What's Going On Now?

I'm doing it! I'm editing my own website! It's not unlike the first time I drove on my own, with no one beside me to say "I would have indicated earlier". I'm little more nervous perhaps.

Students will by now be well into their exam studies - whether they are actually taking the exam or not, I would ask parents to encourage children to learn their words and practice their pieces. It's really good discipline and they feel better about it in class if they are prepared. The grade exams are not meant to be stressful however, so if any student is unhappy, please let me or one of the teachers know.  If you need more information than is on the website, drop me an email or text - this really is the best way to contact me and I will get back to you much quicker (I seem never to get around to checking voice mails as you may have noticed...)

Students should get their play scripts by the end of February - reminder that our concert takes place over two evenings during May - dates and details on the calendar.

I have had zero interest in the Easter Camp competition which saddens me frankly, but it has moved me to start another competition. Called "WRITE SOMETHING!", all students are invited to write a poem, a play or a short story and might win a big yummy Easter egg. Details on the competition page.

If you catch this blog in time, and you are looking for something to do tonight (Friday 24th Feb), you could do worse than head down to Loreto Foxrock to see their amazing production of "Twelve Angry Men", directed by yours truly.  If I say so myself, it is quite the production, with a super cast and set. I'll be sad when it's over, but of course, there is plenty going on to keep me busy.  I'll be all around the country adjudicating AIMS musical productions - this is 'show season' and while I've managed to juggle things quite well, I may miss the odd class. I'm so grateful for Ruth, Angela and Monica, not to mention the ever giving youth theatre assistants for their solid support.

Mary is taking a break this term as things are busy with her choir company CORus - parents, if you think singing your heart out would do you good, check out her website www.corus.ie - I believe it's life changing! We continue to keep Mary and her family (including our own Billie and Holly) in our thoughts and prayers following her mother's recent passing.
